New years eve visitor

spider monoIts been incredibly hot today, 40 degrees celsius. We went out for a while to check out some cameras, but it felt like we were melting into the footpath so we made it a quick trip. I’ve spent the day researching cameras and lenses.

I’d like to stay with Canon and for the body its been a toss up between the EOS 550D and the 60D. The 60D is winning the race at the moment. It gets complicated after choosing the model because I now need to choose whether I go for a grey import or an Aus model.

Then on top of that do I choose a body with kit lenses? Or choose the body and wait a while to get some of the lenses that I’d really like, continuing to use the lenses that I have? Ideally i’d like to get two canon lenses but they’d be about $3000 together, the EF 24-70 f2.8 USM and the EF 70-200 f2.8 USM.

I like the flexibility of the zoom lenses and I’d like to get the f2.8s. I’m considering some Sigma and Tamron lenses next.

Maybe I’ll just continue contemplating for a bit longer, the EOS 350D is taking some nice shots. Maybe I’ll just keep saving for now.

Now that I’ve got that out of my head (its been there all day!) I can talk about my new year. I’m having a quiet night at home with hubby, we got chinese takeaway for tea and now we’re watching the 4400. Its tranquil, mellow and all the other good things in life that I need right now. I’m planning on having a stable, fun, creative and healthy year, filled with love, laughs and much learning.
